In 2006 the Churchill’s Europe Symposium, guest speaker Dr. Richard Freiherr von Weizsäcker, former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, focused on the state of the “United States of Europe” 60 years after Sir Winston Churchill's call for unity.
In a special commemoration lecture, Dr. Hans-Dietrich Genscher, former Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, further discussed Europe's place in a new global order.
