The first symposium in this series took place on the fiftieth anniversary of Churchill's speech. The meeting was addressed by Sir Malcolm Rifkind, British Foreign Secretary; Mr Flavio Cotti, Swiss Federal Councillor for Foreign Affairs; and Mr Nicholas Soames, Churchill’s grandson.
